To understand Reiki, Tarot or other healing arts, you must first understand energy. Have you ever walked into a room after an argument? Maybe you said "The tension was so thick I could cut it with a butter knife." This is energy. Energy is everywhere - In everything, in everyone, everywhere. In rocks, plants, household objects, locations and, yes, even in our bodies.
Our bodies are surrounded by energetic fields and are constantly processing energy through our Chakras and Meridians of our body. Our Chakras act as filters and funnels for processing energy. As I learned from Andrea Bernstein, a great Shamanic healer, energy is not good or bad, but heavy and light. Sometimes the heavier energy gets caught in our energetic fields and begins to make a physical imprint on our cells and make our lives difficult.
There are many tools to help give us clarity and your own personal truth. Tarot & Oracle readings can help bring understanding and Reiki can help clear away energetic blockages and past trauma.
I've been learning Tarot for four years and have discovered what a powerful tool it can be to help one progress. Tarot acts as a reflection of the self - revealing areas in your life that are unresolved. As I learned from Suzanne Wagner (Goddess of all things Tarot related, if you ask me), "there are no good or bad cards. You are all of the cards - the good and the bad aspects of each card. And no part of yourself can be left behind if you want to progress."
Tarot offers an exploration of the self through the archetypes of the major and minor arcana. It sheds light on your shadow self and helps you bring all parts of yourself into alignment- spiritual, physical, sexual, intellectual.
I received my first and second attunement from the amazingly intuitive Alisabeth Shelman. Reiki is a Japanese technique to promote healing through the life force energy. 'Rei' meaning Spiritual Wisdom and 'Ki' meaning Life Energy. Vital life energy may be known by other names: Prana, Chi, Qi, Life Force, etc. Energy flows through our bodies, animating our organs & cells, and circulates around us constantly. If there is a restriction in the flow of our energy or our energy is low, then we become more susceptible to illness. Reiki is susceptible to negative thoughts and feelings, whether they are from ourselves or those around us. A negative thought may become lodged in our subconscious, creating unhealthy energy which can affect the physical body. For example, you might have a irrational fear, which turns into a worry, which manifests as anxiety and stress which causes your illness and tension in your physical body.
Reiki is energy that is guided by spiritual consciousness and can do no harm. It increases the energy levels for both the receiver and the practitioner. It may feel differently for everyone. For some, it may feel like a warm, glowing feeling. Others may physically sense negative energy leaving their body and being replaced by healthy, positive energy.
